In today’s Revo SuperConnect review, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about what could become your go-to DAB radio.
About Revo Radio
Revo Radio is a slightly newer brand in the broadcasting market, founded by Colin Urie and David Baxter in 2004.
Headquartered in a small Scottish town (Lanark), Revo designs specialist audio devices for consumers around the UK and across the globe.
Revo’s design and engineering philosophy centres around quality, function, and style. The products within the Revo portfolio are unique for combining the latest in high-quality design principles with a heart-warming retro essence and an eye for innovation.
The brand has remained relatively small and agile over the years despite huge competition from companies like Bose and Philips.
Fortunately, Revo’s hard work pays off in the form of various awards, including iF and Red Dot product design accolades.
Revo products are now available in 20 countries worldwide. Find out more about the Revo Radio brand here.

Revo SuperConnect review: Design
The first thing you’ll notice about the SuperConnect is just how attractive it is.
This is a truly beautiful piece of machinery that perfectly embodies the retro hi-fi feel you might have had 20 or 30 years ago.
Everything down to the speaker grille gives you a much-needed blast from the past – sure to get your nostalgia nodes tingling.
At first glance, the Revo SuperConnect radio may even convince you that you’re looking at a genuine relic from the golden age of radio.
Of course, dig a little deeper, and you’ll discover that this machine is more than just “up-to-date,” with a 2.7 inch OLED display – bigger than industry standard.
We found that the extra space on the display is particularly useful when it comes to navigating through digital menus.
What’s more, there’s a convenient joystick control on the machine that makes it easier to use the SuperConnect, too.
At first, this feature doesn’t seem necessary – you could just have buttons, after all. However, there’s something about the joystick control that gets you in touch with your youth again.
The tactile feel of the unit combined with its beautiful image makes it hard not to fall in love with the SuperConnect. What’s more, you get real, genuine wood casing with this device – not just wood-effect plastic.
That means that you’re going to end up with acoustic properties unlike many other devices available on the market. Sure, wood looks stunning, but it also provides added depth and reverb.
Revo also includes 8 dedicated pre-set buttons on the front of the casing to make it easier to tune into your favourite stations instantly.
Revo SuperConnect review: Performance and connectivity
It’d be tough to provide a comprehensive Revo SuperConnect DAB radio review without paying some attention to the connectivity and performance aspects of the device.
The SuperConnect comes with excellent functionality built-in, regardless of whether you’re looking for FM with RDS, DAB, and DAB+, or internet radio. Ultimately, there’s no limit to what you can listen to.
There’s also a range of connectivity options to choose from, such as Bluetooth for wirelessly streaming your personal music collection.
Unlike many other radios, the Revo radio also features Spotify Connect – although you’ll need a premium Spotify account to access it.
This service means you can play anything from Spotify’s astronomical library of songs and enjoy all the benefits of Revo sound quality too.
There are other internet radios on the broadcasting market that can provide slightly stronger connectivity, but you can always look for a Wi-Fi booster to ramp up the signal if you think it isn’t robust enough.
Revo SuperConnect review: Sound quality
Where would a Revo radio review be without feedback on sound quality?
There’s no SuperConnect stereo option here, but Revo has another model available in the form of the “SuperSystem” if stereo is an absolute feature you cannot live without.
The good news is that the SuperConnect comes with a 30W Class-D amplifier that powers two 90mm BMR speakers. Revo says this combination produces wide sound dispersion for more pleasing wireless audio playback.
There are also RCA and optical stereo output connectors for linking to external systems and surround-sound.
Additionally, the authentic wooden cabinet ensures that you get plenty of warmth and depth built into the SuperConnect sound. The radio comes with Balanced Mode Radiator technology, which helps improve your sound quality even further.
This is one of the best-sounding internet radios you’ll find on the market today.
Expert Advice: It’s worth mentioning that the Revo SuperConnect’s sound quality also depends on the medium and signal strength. We achieved the best sound quality from music streaming services like Spotify and internet radios compared to traditional FM radio frequencies.
Revo SuperConnect review: Usability
With all the connectivity options that the Revo SuperConnect radio provides when it comes to finding your favourite tunes, it’s important for a tool like this one to have an immersive and well-designed user interface.
Fortunately, there’s no massive learning curve when it comes to figuring out how to use this set. We found it as simple as riding a bike.
Configuring everything from the moment you get your new equipment is a breeze, and navigating 16,000 available radio stations couldn’t be simpler.
If you know what you’re looking for, you can track down the perfect station and add it to your pre-figured menu so that you only have to press a single button to find the same station.
Thanks to Spotify Connect, you can access music streaming services and manage your playlist from your phone. This means you can control your entire listening experience from the comfort of your chair.
For quality streaming from smartphones, just pair the phone to your SuperConnect via Bluetooth, and you’re ready to go.
Got more than one Revo SuperConnect radio? Great, then why not connect them?
Multi-room support is something that a lot of people tend to look for these days when they’re buying high-end wireless audio playback equipment.
The SuperConnect radio from Revo allows you to link up to five different external devices at any time for wireless audio playback.
Since we didn’t have five of these delightful machines to play with, we can’t tell you for certain how great that sounds – but we can only assume it’s incredible.
Revo SuperConnect review: Additional information
If you plan on using your Revo SuperConnect as not just a music station but a wake-up call, too, then you’re in luck. There’s the option to set multiple alarm times and determine exactly what kind of noise you want to play when you’re trying to wake yourself up after a long night.
The alarm has sleep and snooze functions for easy adjustment based on how long you want to rest.
Additionally, setting up the WiFi internet radio is very quick and easy – even if you’ve got a pretty rough network like we do. The connection feels strong, and there’s no dropout to worry about – provided that you’re close enough to your router.
The SuperConnect also comes with a remote control (if you don’t want to use your smartphone), which needs two AAA batteries (link to Amazon). However, honestly, we think using the UNDOK app is much simpler.
Speaking of controlling your new kit, the OLED display also dims when you’re not using it so that you won’t be distracted by extra lighting in your bedroom at night.
Revo SuperConnect Review: Verdict
The Revo SuperConnect Radio is one of the most attractive and best-sounding internet radios you’ll find. It comes with a wide variety of features to explore, and there’s no need to compromise on sound quality either.
If you’re looking for a gadget with clear digital audio to satisfy any audiophile, this could be the go-to home radio you’ve always wanted.
We’d recommend keeping the radio closer to your router to ensure a strong Wi-Fi connection and remember that you can’t add podcasts manually to this radio. However, other than that, it’s hard to find much to fault with the Revo SuperConnect.
- DAB, DAB+ and FM Tuner with RDS
- Wi-Fi internet radio
- Bluetooth wireless streaming with aptX technology
- Spotify Connect Enabled for access to 20 million tracks
- Digital alarm clock functionality with sleep and snooze
